Surface Preparation
  • Do not use products like cellulose or polyurethane filler or primer before the application of the product. As a filler, mix the wood dust with Prime Universal Parquet Primer and fill all gaps and joints of the parquet. Clean the excess paste after it has dried out.
    • New Wooden Floors:
      • Clean the surface completely.
      • Sand the surface with parquet sanding machine or hand using sandpaper #120/150
      • Thoroughly clean the generated dust and remove it completely from the surface with a vacuum cleaner.
      • Prime Decorative Wood Colorant can be used for coloring the parquet floor.
      • After the coloring, allow at least 6 hours to dry before primer application.
  • Varnished Wooden Floors:
    • Remove the old varnish from the parquet completely with a scraping machine.
    • Remove any dirt, oil, wood dust and old varnish residues from the surface.
    • Thoroughly clean the generated dust and remove it completely from the surface with a vacuum cleaner.
    • Remove the remaining dust with a damp cloth.
Application
  • The product is ready to use and does not require thinning. (At very high temperatures 2-3% drinking water may be added).
  • Stir the product thoroughly before use and check its homogeneity. Repeat this process during the application.
  • Apply the product in 1 coat by brush or roller.
  • Allow the product to dry for 2 hours before applying water-based varnish and 6 hours before applying solvent-based varnish.
  • After Prime Universal Parquet Primer dries, lightly sand the surface with #180/220 sandpaper (It is recommended to be based on aluminum oxide and silicon carbide) and proceed to the polish application.
  • Apply the primer first across the grain and then along the grain to leave an equal and sufficient amount on the parquet surface without sweeping too much.
  • The area should be ventilated after the application to promote the drying.
Maintenance
  • Do not apply the product directly on pre-coated surfaces.
  • Remove the old varnish from the parquet completely with a scraping machine. Remove any dirt, oil, wood dust and old varnish residues from the surface.
  • Thoroughly clean the generated dust and remove it completely from the surface with a vacuum cleaner.
  • Remove the remaining dust with a damp cloth.
  • Repeat same process as described in “Application” with 1 coat.
  • Inspect annually and maintain as required.
