General Information

Prime Parquet Varnish is a one-component, water-based varnish with high scratch and abrasion resistance developed for the maintenance of your wooden floorings.

Surface Preparation
  • Cellulosic, polyurethane, etc. before applying the product. Do not use any filler or primer products. Fill all the gaps and joints in the parquet by mixing the product as a filler with the wood dust obtained after scraping. Once the paste has dried, remove any excess paste.
  • New Wood Floors: Clean the surface of all dirt, oil and dust. Sand with 120/150 sandpaper or by machine with 120/150 sandpaper. Completely remove the resulting dust from the surface with a vacuum cleaner. When you want to color the parquet floor, Prime Water Based Decorative Wood Colourant can be used. Before applying polish, wait at least 6 hours for the applied color to dry.
  • Polished Wooden Floors: Completely remove the old polish from the parquet with a scraper machine. Completely clean the surface from all dirt, oil stains, sawdust and old polish residues. Completely remove the resulting dust from the surface with a vacuum cleaner. Wipe off any remaining dust with a slightly damp cloth.
Application
  • The product is ready to use and does not require dilution. (Can be diluted 2-3% with drinking water in very hot weather)
  • Before use, mix the product well and check its homogeneity. Repeat this process throughout the application.
  • Apply the first coat of polish with a roller or brush and wait 1.5-2 hours.
  • Before applying the 2nd coat of polish, lightly sand the surface with 180/220 sandpaper.
  • Apply the 2nd and 3rd coat with an interval of 1.5-2 hours, sanding with sandpaper no. 180/220 between coats.
  • If the waiting time between coats exceeds 8 hours, wait 24 hours and apply the next coat by sanding the surface with sandpaper no. 220/240 (aluminum oxide or silicon carbide based is recommended).
  • When applying the first coat, apply the polish first to the width and then to the length of the parquet surface, without combing it too much. In this way, an equal and sufficient amount of polish will be applied to the surface.
  • Ventilate the environment to ensure that the applied surface dries. The full hardening time of the product is 7 days. 
  • The moisture content of the wood to be applied must be below 12%.
Care
  • Do not apply the product directly to polished surfaces.
  • Completely remove the old polish from the parquet with a scraper. Completely clean the surface from all dirt, oil stains, sawdust, old polish residues.
  • Completely remove the resulting dust from the surface with a vacuum cleaner.  Wipe off any remaining dust with a slightly damp cloth.
  • Repeat the steps in the “Application” section 3 times. 
  • Inspect every year and perform maintenance if necessary.
General Instructions

  • If you are going to apply with a roller, pour the amount of product you will use into a container that your roller can fit into. Make sure the container is dry and clean.
  • Start application from the edges with a brush.
  • When applying, do not comb too much to leave enough product on the surface.
  • The brush or roller to be used in applications must be saturated with the product before starting the application. After this process, the excess product remaining on the roller or brush should be removed by rubbing it on the edge of the package or using a suitable apparatus. Thus, in the first applications, an equal and sufficient amount of polish will be applied to the surface.
  • When applying the first coat; It is important to apply the polish first transversely and then longitudinally on the parquet surface, without combing too much, in order to apply an even and sufficient amount of polish to the surface.
  • You must wait 7 days before laying carpet or cleaning.

  • FOR INDOOR USE ONLY.
  • Before applying the product, remove it from cellulosic, polyurethane, etc. Never use any filler or primer product.
  • Close the lid of the product after application.
  • The general application temperature of the product is between 15oC to 25oC at a relativehumidity range of 40-65%.
  • The moisture content of the wood to be applied must be below 12%.
  • Ventilate the applied area thoroughly to ensure drying during and after application.
  • The product should not be applied when the weather or surface temperature is below 10°C.
  • Polished floors should not be cleaned with cleaning agents containing ammonia.
  • Polished parquet floors should be stepped on 24 hours after application, and 7 days should be waited before laying carpet or cleaning.
  • The product should be protected from freezing and stored at temperatures between 5°C to 35°C.
  • Clean the tools and equipment used during application with plenty of water and soap.

The colors shown here are applied on pine and care has been taken to ensure that they are close to reality. The color you will achieve will vary depending on the properties, texture and absorbency of the wood. In order to see the real color, it is recommended to try it on the wood to be used.
